Actually hybrid SDR's are better than pure SDR's as demonstrated with the 7300, the FT DX 10 handles better noisy environment and doesn't get overloaded when the 7300 does because of that hybrid arquitecture.

I like my FTDX10 but don't use all the features and wish it had better ergonomics, and was a bit cheaper. So the 710 sounds good. At least as good as a 7300. Actually hybrid SDR's are better than pure SDR's as demonstrated with the 7300, the FT DX 10 handles better noisy environment and doesn't get overloaded when the 7300 does because of that hybrid arquitecture.KX4UL Subscriber QRZ Page. Nice overview of your field set up and the Yaesu FT-710. Yaesu needed a radio to compete with the Icom IC-7300 in that price range and the FT-710 fits the bill. I have had a few IC-7300 rigs bouncing around and trying other rigs and I really like the IC-7300 a lot. I am now running a Yaesu FTDX10 and love it.Yaesu is not discontinuing the FTdx10. From what I've read, the 710 was the next logical step in upgrading the HF product line. The dx101 replaced the dx5000. The dx10 replaced the dx3000. The FT710 replaces the dx1200. All those older models were designs from a decade or more ago.The only drawbacks I could find are the scope dynamic range and the average of the FFT spectrum.
